Welcome to DMEA
The Delaware Music Educators Association, a body of professional music educators, exists to improve music curricula and instruction for students in our public, private, parochial and charter schools and to foster professional growth of all music educators in Delaware. The Association advocates the National Standards as promoted by the MENC and accepted by the U.S. Department of Education for school music programs and the Delaware Standards for Music as developed by the Visual and Performing Arts Frameworks Commission. The DMEA provides professional development for the members of the organization as well as other music educators in Delaware. The DMEA also organizes the All-State programs in Delaware for those students who are involved in their school music programs. Current DMEA sponsored All-State organizations include: Orchestra, Jazz Band, Junior Band (7 - 9), Senior Band (10 - 12), Junior Chorus (7 - 8), Senior Chorus (9 - 12) and Women's Choir (9 - 12).
ALL-STATE CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT (as of 10am, Feb. 5):
JUNIOR CHORUS - The rehearsal is being recorded all morning, and parents are welcome to sit in the auditorium to watch. Students will be done at 12:00.
SENIOR AND WOMEN'S CHOIR - The recording session will begin at 11:30am and be completed by 1pm. Students will be done at 1:00.
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE ALL-STATE CONCERTS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, FEB. 6 HAVE BEEN CANCELED
Ticket purchases will be refunded.
