Calendar of Events

Fiesta at Dr. Burton's house for anyone currently a member or interested in becoming a member of MENC. The event will be 2-5pm and will include eating some excellent non-dining hall food, a t-shirt design contest, and determining fundraisers for the year.

September 18: UD CMENC meeting 7-8pm

Come hear the plan for this year. Get involved in our activities - if you are interested in fundraising, photography, or coordinating events, this is the time and place to get involved. Information about chapter events, state events, and the national conference will be presented at this meeting.

This is a professional development day for Delaware teachers. We go and preside over sessions, which means we assist the clinician in distributing handouts and at the end we stamp books for teachers to get credit for attending. Pre-registration = free lunch. This is an all day event. An email will be sent out to all music majors with information about how to sign up etc.

This one's a Saturday 9-12 workshop and counts for RECITAL ATTENDANCE. An interactive drum workshop for students and music teachers given by Harvey Price and Brian Bersh.

Volunteers are needed to handle registration and monitoring.

Help auditioning students find their way around, etc., help out in general. Man the MENC table with music major weekend signups.

February 25: UD CMENC meeting 4pm

Information on Music Major Weekend and Edwin Gordon's visit will be presented here. There will also be a presentation on Chinese music and instruments.

Prospective students are offered an opportunity to spend a weekend with a current student. Other activities will/may include a tour of the buildings, a recital, a question and answer forum, and the opportunity to sit in on Monday morning classes! MENC members who wish to host a prospective student will have the student stay in their dorm for a night, show them around campus, and go to the weekend events with them.

March 7-8: Edwin Gordon Comes to UD

Edwin Gordon will be doing a GSR on March 7th. MENC, ACDA, and GIML members may get a chance to talk with him afterwards. He will be teaching a seminar on Saturday the 8th 9am-2pm. We may also have visitors from other MENC college chapters for the weekend.

The MENC National conference is a 4-day event held in Milwaukee, WI. Check out the minutes from the interest meeting and email Katy (kginther@udel.edu) with any questions.

April 16: UD CMENC Meeting and Mock Interviews 5:30pm

We will do a brief recap of the past months events and hand out certificates of participation. Then the students who attended the national MENC conference in Milwaukee will talk about their experiences there. Mock interviews to follow. The location for this meeting is TBD.

Something good. And food. Yes, there will be food.
