Mt. Lebanon UMC, Wilmington DE - Employment Opportunities
This small suburban church located in a beautiful natural, historic setting is currently seeking a person OR persons to provide leadership for its music ministry. Position(s) available Jan 1, 2012. We are open to hiring
EITHER:
1) a 10-hour/week Director of Music Ministries,
OR
2) a 5-hr/week Church Choir Director AND a 5-h/week Musician proficient on organ and piano.
Director of Music Ministries
Part-time (10 hrs/wk) person needed for provide Christian leadership in all areas of worship music. Primary duties include planning, attending, leading worship music for weekly Sunday worship (10:30am) and special services throughout the church year. Familiarity with traditional, classical sacred and contemporary Christian musical genres is necessary. Rehearsals occur Sunday before and after worship. Yearly planning, selection and execution of music in conjunction with the Pastor and Worship Team requires good organizational and people skills. Must be able to encourage and teach music to choir members and congregation requiring good teaching skills. Flexibility a must as the small choir has a wide diversity of musical abilities. Also requires a heart and vision for occasional musical mission/service opportunities with surrounding organizations. The Director is supervised directly by the Pastor and supported by the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee. Compensation commensurate with experience, using AGO guidelines. The only benefits available with the position are two weeks paid vacation. Additional income from weddings and funerals possible.

Musician Needed
Part-time (5 hrs/wk) pianist/organist needed for small church setting to work with Choir Director and small choir in an intergenerational, theologically diverse congregation. Sunday hours, approx. 10am–1pm each week with two hours of rehearsal time on your own schedule. Proficiency on piano and organ necessary. Patience and flexibility helpful. Prefer committed and joyful Christian but happy to accept those willing and open-hearted to serve. Must work and play well with others. Salary commensurate with experience, two weeks vacation included in salary.
Church Choir Director Position Available
Part-time (5 hrs/wk) Church Choir Director position now open with small church with wide diversity of ages and theological understandings. Director must be a committed Christian, be creative, flexible and possess good teaching skills and familiarity with wide variety of musical styles (traditional, classical sacred and contemporary.) Choir Director would plan, select and rehearse Sunday worship music (10am-1pm) each week with additional services on special holidays. Prefer choral direction experience but training and enthusiasm may be acceptable. Salary commensurate with experience, two weeks vacation included in salary.

Rehearsal Piano Accompanist – The Brandywiners, Ltd. – summer show 2012
The Brandywiners, Ltd is looking for skilled rehearsal pianists for this summer’s production of “Hello Dolly”
The rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7:30 PM – 10:30 PM) from May 22 to July 12, 2012 (16 rehearsals).
Rehearsals are held at Aldersgate Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
